Rikord Island, off the south-east coast of Russia, at the Pacific Ocean near Vladivostock. Fatei, the sea farmer, like the hero of Hemingway’s novel, struggles with nature and takes care of it at the same time. He fights with the poachers and the local authorities. In his work for the common good, he finds himself on the wrong side of the law. Meanwhile he remains a poet and every days prepares the delicious sea food for the rich coming by on their yachts.
